ABOUT US
I am so glad you are here, that’s means you are proactive in caring for you and your loved ones needs and safety during times of crisis. Prior to 2008 I honestly didn’t think much about natural disasters. Emergencies situation were something that appeared on the news and seemed like a whole other world. In 2008 I made a move to hurricane country and everything changed. Suddenly I was one of those people on the television and reality is far worse than the short clips seen on the evening news.
Having survived a monster hurricane with sustained winds of 155+ mph I have learned some very valuable lessons on what to do, what not to do in order to stay alive before, during and in the aftermath of a hurricane. 72 hours after a natural disaster is the most critical time. Due to civil unrest and martial law our nightmare lasted 14 days. Power returned after 12 days. Things finally took a turn for the better and all services were restored after 3 weeks and it took a full 2 months until things seemed normal again. In some cases natural disasters take months and even years to recover.
I am here to share everything I know to help save lives and to make life easier in an extremely stressful situation. It is simple, those who are PREPARED have the best chance of survival. Those with knowledge, awareness and survivor skills live. I have since lived through subsequent moderate hurricanes and tropical storms that brought catastrophic flooding.
Each natural disaster brings its own set of challenges and different preparedness requirements. 2017 and 2018 were shocking years with devastating natural disasters particularly monster hurricanes, wildfires and earthquakes. 2019 is already gearing up to be a monster earthquake year and the East Pacific is setting up to be an active hurricane season.
I watched closely in the years since our major hurricane and I knew I had to share my experience, skills and know how with anyone who needs it. So many lives can be saved if the right decisions are made early and you prepare you, your family and property. Seeing people die because of lack of preparation is devastating, it has changed my entire perspective. By sharing my experiences and that of other survivors on this blog, if you only take away a few tips that could save lives then I’ve done my work. For those of us that live in hurricane, flooding, cyclones, typhoon and earthquake areas we cannot avoid the devastation and despair that are caused by natural disasters, there are circumstances that cannot be forecast. What we do is share our knowledge and experience to assist you and your loved ones make it through natural disasters and have made it my mission to prevent the loss of life by helping you be as prepared as possible.
It all starts with you. Just like folks have life, home and health insurance we also have to have a plan for natural disasters. Get prepared, stay prepared and stay safe!
